Monaco Gem Lab, a gemological analysis laboratory, was established in 2007 by Alain Caussinus, a gemmologist. It quickly built a reputation for integrity, ethics and efficiency. Its standing among the Monegasque and French public is well established today.
The laboratory has four gemmologists on its staff, two permanent members and two external consultants.
Facing a complex market where the risks of uncertainty regarding the nature of a stone or its possible treatment are significant, our laboratory does everything possible to ensure a quality technical service while integrating a consultancy dimension in our client relationships.
The presence of treated, synthetic or imitation gemstones on the market has never been stronger, and with gemstone demand continuously increasing, this situation will only worsen. In this context, buying without a certificate is synonymous with risk. From its opening, MGL laboratory has been equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, aligned with the challenges currently encountered in the certification field. Aware of these challenges, we make it a point of honor to always stay one step ahead of counterfeiters. Beyond traditional equipment such as binocular loupes, refractometers, polariscopes, radiography apparatus, UV cabins, etc.
